Message from the Chair
Realizing clean energy sources is a universal challenge for sustainable development and tackling issues such as climate change. Today, the development of fusion energy, anticipated to be a solution, is entering a transformative period. Building upon the robust technological foundation steadily developed through the international collaborative ITER project/BA activities, we are witnessing an era of accelerated private sector-led investment and industrialization efforts propelled by cutting-edge technologies. This has steered into an era of fusion energy development competition.
Japan possesses a well-established academic foundation, advanced technical expertise, manufacturing prowess, and a wealth of talent and experience underpinning these strengths. This unique position presents Japan with great potential in the international fusion energy in
dustry. As the competition intensifies, it is imperative for Japan’s private, academic, and government sectors to work together towards industrialization to deliver the promise of fusion.
The “Japan Fusion Energy Council: J-Fusion” is being established to bring together like-minded players across diverse sectors. Our objective is to cultivate a fusion energy industry originating from Japan, promoting it globally, and contributing to the future of humanity. With our sights set on an evolving industry, we come together to leverage the collective wisdom, talent, knowledge and experience, as we collaborate and forge ahead with global partners to develop an unprecedented supply chain.
Central to our success is the understanding and endorsement of a society that endorses and supports this new energy technology, enabling us to create momentum toward realizing fusion energy. We are determined to work diligently with members who share aspirations for a sustainable energy future. We appreciate continued support and cooperation in advancing the Council’s mission going forward.
